Submission Guidelines
Opinion Columns
For Column Editing or Advice:
Submitted pieces should follow general guidelines for writing columns. They should be less than 850 words, have a clearly defined point to make, and be generally free of spelling and punctuation errors. They can cover any subject but should represent the clear and unique voice of the writer. Any references to other work should be made in the text or hyperlinked where appropriate. All submissions should be sent in a word document to editor@sapperscribe.com.

We will make every effort to respond to each submission within 7 days. If you have not received a response, we welcome you to send a follow-up email.

For Publication:
If you want to be considered for publication on the Sapper Scribe, simply submit a pitch letter for feedback. We'll let you know if it is something we'd be interested. We are not picky, our mission here is to help you get published, not to maintain a consistent brand in our blog.
Manuscripts
For Publication:
We accept book manuscripts of any genre. We are especially interested in first time authors, military spouses, or servicemembers. Simultaneous submissions are absolutely allowed, just let us know so we can render a decision as quickly as possible.

Format:
Submit your manuscript via email as a word document or pdf to editor@sapperscribe.com with "Manuscript Submission" in the subject line.
Include a pitch letter (any length) and brief synopsis of your plot (500 words or less).

Services:
If selected, we will assist with editing, formatting, cover design and marketing. Authors are expected to assist with marketing across their social media platforms.

Finances:
If selected, there is no cost to the author. We are not a vanity press. However, we are very much a growing Indie press. We can in no way guarantee specific profits or sales from your book, and the Author's advertising makes all the difference. Sapper Scribe Publishing will register your book with an ISBN and barcode and manage publication through print on demand services such as Kindle Direct Publishing and Barnes & Noble Press. Profits made from book sales are split evenly between the author and Sapper Scribe Publishing. Further details are worked out once your manuscript is selected.
